Nabil Al Dabal receiving the award from the Prince.

IEEE Saudi Arabia Section received a major boost to its reputation, when the Section was recognized by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd Al-Saud during the e-Services symposium that held at the Le Meridian Hotel in Khobar during the period Dec 11- 13, 2006. The E-Services symposium is a unique event of its kind in Saudi Arabia where decision makers from the Government and the Industry join together with the professionals to share the plans and achievements in the e-Services sector.  The 2006 e-Services Symposium was attended by over 1000 delegates from various government and public sectors.  As a Silver sponsor of the event, the IEEE volunteers participated heavily in supporting the event by leading several of the committees.  The current recognition was due to the increasing IEEE activities and strong participation in various symposium and events as indicated by Nabil Al-Dabal, chairman of IEEE Saudi Arabia Section who received the award. IEEE participated in the exhibition as well as held various technical presentations and supported the tutorial activities as highlighted by Ghaleb Al-Dandan, Chairman of IEEE Saudi Arabia Section - Industry Applications Society Chapter. In 2006, IEEE conducted more than 15 technical Dinner Meetings and workshops, participated in three major symposiums and one international conference for the Gulf region.
