The Year 2000 sees the 10th Anniversary of PIMRC with a return to its founding location - London, all the more appropriate with the auction by the UK Government of Operator Licences for UMTS. Bids rapidly increased and ended at over £22 billion.

At PIMRC'2000 we promise you an exciting and informative occasion presenting the latest developments in the convergence of IP technology, multi-media and mobility for personal communications in the next millennium.

There will be 65 technical sessions over three days, including 6 Executive Panel discussions. In addition there will be 8 Tutorials covering topics such as Wireless Application Protocols (WAP), Mobile IP, 3GPP and Smart Antennas.

Venue

Located on Edgware Road in the heart of London, the Hilton London Metropole is within easy reach of Oxford Street, Marble Arch and the capital's many landmarks. There are 688 rooms and 3 restaurants, 2 bars and a Leisure Centre within the hotel which has a 15-metre pool, sauna, hot tub and a fully equipped fitness centre.

All of London's leading entertainments are found within a short walk, or ride by public transport or taxi. The hotel is very close to Paddington Station which today has a 15-minute direct rail link to Heathrow airport.

Other local budget hotels will be available on the booking form.

The weather in England at this time is mild (18-19°C during the day).
