PART A - SECTION SUMMARY
IEEE Tainan Section doesn’t have a bank account presently.
To apply for a bank account of IEEE Tainan Section, we need to get the
official certificate issued by the Interior Ministry of Taiwan. IEEE Tainan
Section has been approved as an official group by the Interior Ministry of
Taiwan in January.
Once we received the certificate issued by the Interior Ministry, we’ll
work on the application for an account and cash the check of 2005 rebate as
soon as possible.

Students Activities
The IEEE Student Branch at
Our student branch serves to promote the goals of IEEE at the
university level and provides a link to professional engineers through our
association with the Tainan Section of IEEE. we encourage the outstanding IEEE
student members to join the IEEE Organization and expect them to have a
significant influence on tendencies in the future.
Branch Chairman: Han-Jen Hsu, PHD student, EE Dept.,
Activity:
We’re working on establishing technical chapters in IEEE NCKU
Student Branch.
The petition of IEEE NCKU Student Branch
CAS Chapter was promoted by Prof. Pau-Choo Chung and the application is
prepared in March 2006.

Summary of Chapter
Activities
There are six Chapters in
the Tainan Section: the Communications Society, the Antennas and Propergation
Society, the Signal Processing Society, the Circuits and Systems Society, the
Computational and Intelligence Society and the Computer Society.
1. AP-
During the year 2005, the IEEE AP-S Tainan Chapter held 26
technical meetings and cosponsored 4 conferences and one short course. As for
the membership development, 3 new members have been recruited and five members
of the Chapter were elevated to senior-member grade. In 2005, the Tainan
Chapter has successfully achieved most of the planned action items, including:
1. We have improved the ways that
connect members together. All the chapter activities were announced on the chapter
website and also E-mailed to all the members of the chapter. The website
address of the Chapter is: http://www.ieee.org/apstnc
2. After the meetings, members
can download the pictures, course materials, or minutes from
the
chapter website.
3. The number of the technical
meeting has been greatly increased. (The number of the technical meeting for
2004 was 8 and it has been increased to 26 for 2005.)
4. The number of Senior Member of Tainan Chapter
has been greatly increased. (The number
of Senior Member for 2004 was
6 and it has been increased to 11 for 2005.)
2. CIS
1. Activity: The IEEE CIS Tainan
Chapter held 2 member meetings, 2 technical speeches and 3
co-organizing
conferences.
2. Membership: As for the membership
development, we have 47 members up to December, 2005.
3. Officers: The officers of CIS chapter are listed below:
Chair: Dr. Pau-Choo (Julia) Chung

By the conclusion of the meeting, the
members agreed to develop and promote the chapter’s reputation on both the
national and international levels in order to attract more members and
enhance the chapter’s reputation. To achieve this, local conferences will be
organized. As soon as possible an attractive state-of-the-art web-site will
be constructed and updated regularly. An enthusiastic and energetic
