India WIE

 
• The Madras IEEE Women in Engineering affinity group celebrated Women’s Day on 8th March, 2009 at IEEE Madras Section, Kotturpuram. Mrs. Uma Rajaram, HOD / EEE, Dr. MGR Technical University, Chennai graced the occasion as chief guest.
 
• NITK IEEE WIE launched by Prof Marimuthu, the R10 WIE Coordinator at the National Institute of Technology, Karnataka, Surathkal, along with the prize distribution for their
intra-college Technical fest, Be Tech on February 18th 2009  
• SIT IEEE WIE launched on 29th Septmeber, 2008, on the day of their National Level Technical Symposium, IdEEEas at the Siddaganga Institute of Technology, Tumkur, Karnataka

Pakistan WIE
 Women In Engineering Day was celebrated at Pakistan Naval college as a part of IEEE’s 125th year celebration on March 14th 2009. It was a program to inspire female students of the institution to make use of their potential.

Several WIE affinity groups were started in several student branches across the region.
