10-18-04 Draft Minutes Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) Atlanta, GA 7:00 pm 15 October 2004 Attendees: J.Beall, R.Duggan (chair), W.Harrison, J.Howard, G.McClure, W.Ratcliff, R.Riddle (v-chair) Visitors: D.Green(Retreat, R3 Secy)), D.Hill(Conf Cmte), C.Lord(Retreat,LDC), W.Marshall (Retreat, AtlantaSectChair), Vicki Waldman (RAD staff) 1. SPC Chair Duggan welcomed the attendees, and the agenda was approved. 2. Minutes of 24 March 2004 were approved. 3. Bill Ratcliff provided a summary report on the activities during the Strategic Planning Retreat held in Atlanta 20-21 Aug 2004. Recommendations for future initiatives in Region 3 were presented. This executive summary is accessible at 4. Bob Duggan pointed out that the 2005+ Strategic Plan brochure will be updated after consultation with Bill Ratcliff to incorporate some Retreat recommendations. The brochure format of 2003 will be retained. The draft will be circulated to SPC by 11-15-04 for approval by 12-1-04. The SPC-approved draft will then be posted on the web and submitted to Reg 3 ExCom by 12-15-04 for approval at the ExCom e-meeting on 1-10-05. 5. The draft SPC Goals & Objectives for 2005 were amended and approved. The G&Os are accessible from the SPC webpage at 6. Mentor assignments for 2005 will be approved by SPC via e-mail and posted on the SPC webpage at by 12-15-04. 7. The next face-to-face SPC meeting will be in April 2005 in Fort Lauderdale, FL in connection with SoutheastCon 2005 and the Reg 3 ExCom meetings there. 8. The SPC meeting was adjourned at 9:30pm.
