INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS:
ORAL PRESENTATIONS

GUIDELINES

1. STRUCTURE OF CONFERENCE

The CCECE02 has several hundred papers arranged in many oral-presentation sessions and a few poster-presentation sessions, all distributed over three full days. Each day has four parallel sessions in the morning and four parallel sessions in the afternoon.

2. STRUCTURE OF ORAL PRESENTATIONS

Each session has eight oral presentations. Each presentation is 20 minutes in duration.

Each session has a Session Chair who (i) will introduce each speaker to the audience (according to the speaker Biographical Sheet) and (ii) will assure that the oral presentation will not exceed the allotted time of 20 minutes, including the question period. The time slots will be adhered to strictly in order to synchronize the start of each oral presentation.

3. PREPARATION OF ORAL PRESENTATIONS

Each speaker is required to prepare visual material (e.g., either overhead transparencies, or slides, or a computer presentation in a suitable format such as the Microsoft Power Point) and communicate his/her findings effectively. The text in the visual material should not be smaller than 14 points. A typical structure of a presentation often includes:
  • A title viewgraph, together with the names of authors and their affiliations;
  • Outline of the presentation;
  • Motivation and problem definition;
  • Background with a literature review;
  • Main body of the paper;
  • Experimental results and their discussion;
  • Conclusions; and
  • Acknowledgements

4. EQUIPMENT PROVIDED

An overhead projector will be provided in each presentation room.

Other equipment may be requested separately on the Biographical Form.

5. MEETINGS OF SPEAKERS WITH SESSION CHAIRS

A Session Chair will meet all the speakers prior to his/her session during either the breakfast (for the Morning Sessions) or lunch (for the Afternoon Sessions). This is possible because both breakfasts and lunches are included in the conference registration.
