The 2006 IEEE Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering provides a forum for the presentation of electrical and computer engineering research and development from Canada and around the world. Papers are invited, in French or English, including but not limited to the following topics:

The Conference
CCECE is an annual conference for university, industrial and government delegates to exchange their ideas on research and disseminate their results and experiences in the field of electrical and computer engineering. The conference is the major IEEE event and flagship conference in Region 7 (Canada) which was established in 1988. Since then the conference has been held in Vancouver, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City, Toronto, Halifax, Calgary, St. John’s, Waterloo, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Niagara Falls. In 2005 it will be held in Saskatchewan and the 2006 Conference will take place in Ottawa, Ontario, for the second time in its history, after 16 years.

Who attends this conference?
Based on the statistics of the conference in the recent years, we are expecting an attendance of about 500 delegates, consisting mostly of researchers from universities, industry and government. At the previous recent conferences, about 10% of the delegates were from outside Canada. We expect and encourage the following groups of individuals to attend CCECE’06:

• Researchers, educators and students in the field of electrical and computer engineering
• Representatives of governmental organizations, business and trade associations concerned with the field
• Executives, R&D staffs, entrepreneurs, consultants and advisors of high-tech companies
• All those with an interest in electrical and computer engineering

Conference organization
The conference will include:

• Plenary sessions with keynote addresses by leading academics, executives and government representatives
• Parallel sessions, workshops, exhibitions, tutorials and seminars
• Poster presentations
• Student paper competition
• Recruiting fair

Conference Location
The conference will take place in the heart of Ottawa, during the famous Tulip Festival. Canada’s Capital Region is the home of several universities and colleges including the University of Ottawa, Carleton University, Université du Québec en Outaouais, Algonquin College and Cité Collégiale. Ottawa is known as Silicon Valley North and hosts the largest high technology cluster in Canada. Ottawa is also the center of the Canadian Federal Government and several branches of government research institutions. Ottawa offers a safe and entertaining urban environment with pleasant weather during the period of the conference.
