This work presents, in a didactic way, the ABC (Absorbing Boundary Condition) technique named UPML (Uniaxial Perfect Matched Layers). Using FDTD method, we discuss a computational technique for implementation of UPML. The ABC is based on the physical description of a medium constituted of layers which are characterized for uniaxial anisotropy. The technique guarantees efficiency for truncation of the computational domain of complex problems.
