Abstract:
This research paper is about the kinetics of the thermal degradation of silicone rubber used on the cover of the polymer insulators, by carrying out a thermal aging for six months with two different temperatures: room temperature and 140 °C, in an oven with air circulation. The study was conducted using the thermogravimetric technique. The kinetic analysis was carried out by the method of Flynn-Wall-Ozawa, showing as a result a slight degradation after aging.
