This work proposes hybrid multiuser detector based on poly- nomial expansion (PE-MuD) as a way to reduce computational complexity inherent to correlation matrix inversion, followed by the low complexity local search procedure, aiming to obtain a near-optimum multiuser performance, however with redu- ced computational complexity. The proposed hybrid PE-MuD receiver topology which incorporate local search procedure, is analyzed under realistic wireless mobile channels, as well as useful system operation scenarios. Simulation results indicate a suitable improvement in the performance-complexity trade-off regarding the classical linear multiuser detectors, particularly the Decorrelator.
