Abstract:
The induction motors are used in industry, commerce and building in variety of applications such as fans, blowers, pumps, compressors and mixers, etc. Soft starters are one of the main start systems used due the characteristics to reduce initial current and minimize the mechanical stress on the structure. In some electrical installations by different reasons, due a bad phases load division it is possible to identify a voltage unbalanced and in extreme cases a great phase dropping. This paper analyses the input soft starter signal as well as the output signal delivered to the load by the soft starter and comments about an interesting new protection characteristics.
