Abstract:
Telecommunication technologies are characterized by an impressive growth rate in the last years. According Ericsson Mobility Report 2015, the number of worldwide mobile subscriptions was 7,100 in 2014 and 7,400 in 2015. It is expected in 2021 around 9,100. Thus causing a major impact on the infrastructure of wireless networks, through increasing the amount of data transmitted on the network and resulting in an overload on such networks. Therefore, in this work we developed a framework that will manage mobile devices connections and enable the user to choose a specific kind of connection for each application, allowing the simultaneous use of more than one network interface. Thus, our solution seeks to increase the flow rate for the user data. Tests results show that our proposed application obtained a higher flow rate and a reduction in energy consumption. Moreover, the proposed solution also presents a better performance when compared with other works in the literature.
