Abstract:
Model Driven Architecture (MDA) is one of the most prominent trends in software development nowadays. This approach has proven to alleviate many problems that usually appear in software development processes. In particular, the possibility to automatically translate models into executable code reduces bugs and development/deployment times, among other important advantages. Then, transformation and mapping from domain abstract models (technology-independent) to technology-dependent models, through platform independent models, become crucial issues. For that reason, both business analysis and software engineering communities recognize the importance of business process modelling in software development. In this paper, a proposal for the process of generating and validating model transformations by using ontologies is introduced. The proposal starts with the description of business processes within an organization and it is intended to contribute to the automation and quality of the architectural design.
