Abstract - This paper presents the fuzzy clustering method to assess quality of the groups formed by cisterns plaques according to some water quality variables. This method uses cluster validation steps to determine the optimal partition, which provides the most homogeneous possible groups. In this work fuzzy clustering method is used to evaluate the quality of the clusters based on the validation methods of controlling the variability of groups or dissimilarity. The method was tested on a hundred plaques cisterns located in Pajeú region. Therefore, the fuzzy clustering method indicates five groups as the best partition, while the Ward's method shows six groups as best partition. 
