Energy is an essential commodity for the industrial sector; the rate charged is not just about the consumption itself, but also the availability twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Thus, this study aims to analyze if the energy tariff charges of captive consumers of the industrial sector of southeastern Brazil is expensive. The costs of large accounts, generation, transport (transmission and distribution) and taxes / charges will be discussed and compared with other countries, especially those that have similar energy matrix.
