This article proposes an performance evaluation on architecture of hybrid optical network. The proposed architecture enables the definition of rules for classifying traffic flows of IP access networks. Furthermore, signals to hybrid optical network the most appropriate paradigm, Optical Circuit Switching (OCS) or Optical Burst Switching (OBS), to be used. The metrics used for the evaluation process were effective network usage and data delivery percentage. The performance evaluation results showed that hybrid architecture made programmable hybrid network and able to handle different types of traffic in order to make efficient use of network resources when compared to non-hybrid networks.
