The water quality in a watershed can be changed significantly due to human activities. As a result, it has seen a significant drop in the quality of surface water. To get an evaluation efficiently and quickly the parameters that classify water were used statistical process control techniques. This work arose from the need for continuous monitoring of some parameters related to water in the region called high-San Francisco, at the mouth of the Para River. Thus, employed traditional control charts and a geostatistical methodology, as was the presence of autocorrelation. Preventing the occurrence of false alarms is important to note that the graph based on geostatistical method showed better performance, monitoring parameter hydrogen potential (pH) due to its efficiency, it is sensitive to small variations in the reduction or increase in pH levels.
