MAE - IEEE Student Branch is one of the biggest Student Branch in IEEE Region 10. MAE IEEE Student Branch was found in the year 2005-06 under the keen guidance of Asst. Prof. Y.V.Chavan and Mr. Amit Choudhary.

The association started with 400 student members and today its members are of more than 1000.

IEEE (The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers) is the world's leading professional association for the advancement of technology. Members of the IEEE automatically become members of their local IEEE Section, allowing them to share technical, professional and personal interests with others in IEEE's worldwide member community. A chapter is the technical subunit of one or more IEEE sections. Members of the IEEE agree to enhance quality of life through technology while at the same time accepting adherence to a strict code of ethics. This code guides members to make decisions in the best interest of humanity with regard to safety, environment, cost and possible conflict of interest
