IEEE Introduction for new members and their guests
Date & Time: March 23, 2009, 06:00 p.m. – 07:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided
Location: Algonquin College, 1385 Woodroffe Ave., School of Advanced Technology, Building-T, Room T119
Parking: No fee after 5:00 p.m. at the Visitors’ Parking Lots 8 & 9. Please respect restricted areas.

Dear Colleagues,
As discussed during the recruitment campaign, I will be running an info/set up session on Monday 23 March 2009.
I have booked T-119 computer lab from 1800 to 1930 for all to have access to a computer terminal. If for some reason we are running late or people need more information I have the flexibility to remain longer in that lab.
I encourage every member to talk with their class mates or friends that might have been interested in IEEE but did not sign up to invite them to this training session. This will be a practical demonstration of what the real benefits are to being an IEEE member and then they can make an informed decision if they want to sign up or not.
For this session, I will need to get numbers as I will order some pizza and have soft drinks on hand. So if you are attending send me the names of your guests also.
Of course we will have to eat it in the hallway as we are not allowed food in the lab but there is plenty of sitting area just outside the lab.

Please reply to this e-mail by Monday 1100 am so I can order the pizza for the evening.

Dear Colleagues,
Last week on 25 Feb 2009 I was invited to Mr. Finnagan's head of Department meeting to make a presentation on IEEE.
 During this meeting I asked that all department Head in the School of Applied arts and Technology assist in our recruiting campaign by doing the following.
 Convey the message below to your Students. If you would all be so kind as to post it in your Blackboard class announcements of the week, that would even be better.    

IEEE Algonquin College Student Branch will be conducting a recruitment Campaign  (see the Photo)
From Tuesday 03 Mar to Friday 06 Mar 2009 (open this schedule)

A stand will be located at the junction of J building and main tunnel to Woodroffe Campus.
This stand will be manned from 1000 hrs to 1400 hrs daily.  Please stop by and have a chat with us you might realize the benefits of being part of an association that supports student to their full ability.
In addition, I asked that the heads of department play 5 Min clips from the IEEE site on technology related to their teachings. These clips are available for free at http://www.spectrum.ieee.org/ Look under Spectrum Videos top right corner.
 
Please try and coordinate amongst the staff not to play the same clips over and over.
