The IEEE

Originally founded in 1963, the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc.) is a non-profit organization leading the advancement of technology among professional communities around the world.

The IEEE currently has over 375,000 members providing services in more than 160 countries, as well as more than 483 student branch chapters situated in colleges and universities.

The IEEE is dedicated to promoting technological progress, innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity.

Vision

IEEE strives to be recognized as playing an essential role in improving global conditions by contributing to the work of the technical community and technical professionals everywhere.

The uOttawa IEEE Student Branch

The University of Ottawa IEEE was established to provide services to improve each student’s experience on campus by accommodating students with access to up-to-date equipment, internet access, textbooks and a quiet work environment.
