IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics
The IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics review committee membership is given Here.
IEEE Transaction on Haptics
The new IEEE Transactions on Haptics will address the science, technology and applications associated with information acquisition and object manipulation through touch. Haptics is an interdisciplinary science that concerns consumer electronics as well as robotics, teleoperation and telemedicine, for example. Haptic interactions relevant to this journal include all aspects of manual exploration and manipulation by humans, machines and interactions between the two, performed in real, virtual, teleoperated or networked environments. Research areas of relevance to this publication will include, but not be limited to, the following topics:- Human haptic and multi-sensory perception and action
- Haptic interactions via passive or active tools and machines
- Devices that sense, enable, or create haptic interactions locally or at a distance
- Haptic rendering and its association with graphic and auditory rendering in virtual reality
- Algorithms, controls, and dynamics of haptic devices, users, and interactions between the two
- Human-machine performance and safety with haptic feedback
- Haptics in the context of human-computer interactions
- Systems and networks using haptic devices and interactions, including multi-modal feedback
- Application of the above, for
example in areas such as education, rehabilitation, medicine,
computer-aided design, skills training, computer games, driver
controls, simulation and visualization
The
Transactions will be published bi-annually in its first year, with the
first issue to premiered in the second half of 2008.
The journal web site is http://www.computer.org/th, and paper
submission will be done through Manuscript Central
(https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/cs-ieee). The Transactions is
financially co-sponsored by IEEE Consumer Electronics Society,
IEEE Robotics and Automation Society and IEEE Computer Society, and is
also technically co-sponsored by IEEE Engineering in
Medicine and Biology Society. For inquiries please contact Professor Ed

IEEE Transactions on Computational Intelligence and AI in Games
The IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON COMPUTATIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND AI in GAMES (TCIAIG), published four times a year, publishes archival journal quality original papers in computational intelligence and related areas in artificial intelligence applied to games, including but not limited to video games, mathematical games, human-computer interactions in games, and games involving physical objects. Emphasis will also be placed on the use of these methods to improve performance in and understanding of the dynamics of games, as well as gaining insight into the properties of the methods as applied to games. It will also include using games as a platform for building intelligent embedded agents for the real world. Papers connecting games to all areas of computational intelligence and traditional AI will be considered. More information is available at the T-CIAIG website.Consumer Electronics Society Newsletter
The Consumer Electronics Society Newsletter, also published quarterly, contains even more timely information on topics of current interest. The newsletter frequently presents overviews of emerging technologies and markets. For more information or to submit an article, contact our Newsletter Editor, James O. Farmer.
