Chapter Reporting
Chapters are required to annually report meeting activity, financial activity and current officers to the parent Section. These reports must be submitted at the end of each year. They are necessary for the Chapter to maintain viability. A Chapter may be dissolved if there are no reports submitted for three consecutive years.
- Meeting Activity Reports: IEEE Bylaws require that a Chapter hold not less than two technical meetings per year and maintain a membership of not fewer than ten members, other than Students. Joint Chapter meetings (where the Chapter is joint with two or more Sections) will be credited to the administrative (parent) Section.
The Chapter is encouraged to send copies of their meeting reports to:

The Section Secretary
- Officer Reports: a list of the Chapter officers, along with member numbers and contact information, should be submitted to the Section Secretary for submission with the Sections materials.
- Financial Activity Reports: the Chapter should submit income and expense information to the Parent Section to be consolidated into the Section Financial report (L-50). Chapters maintaining a separate bank account and/or involved in a lot of financial activity may submit a separate financial report. A copy of this report should go to the Section Treasurer. Consistency should be maintained from year to year regarding the way the financial report is submitted (consolidated or separate).
Report forms and information can be found from the Section/Chapter Support home page "Required Reporting."
Each Chapter also has a "Technical Society Parent." Each Society has different reporting requirements (or may have no requirements at all). Please see the Society Chapter Funding Guide or contact your Society officers for more information.
