The Components, Packaging, and Manufacturing Technology Society Announces Their New 2002 Officers and Board of Governors
Piscataway, N.J. The Components, Packaging and Manufacturing Technology Society (CPMT) announces its newly elected Officers and Board of Governors for 2002. The officers include President, Dr. Rao R. Tummala (Georgia Tech); Technical Vice President, Dr. Phil Garrou (Dow Chemicals); Administrative Vice President, Dr. H. Anthony Chan (San Jose State University); Conferences Vice President, Dr. James E. Morris (Portland State University); Publications Vice President, Mr. Paul B. Wesling (Compaq Computer); and Education Vice President, Dr. Albert F. Puttlitz. These individuals will serve as officers for a two-year term and are elected by the Societys Board of Governors.
The CPMT Society Board of Governors also had six seats open for 2002. The elected winners include Mr. Rolf Aschenbrenner (Fraunhofer Institute IZM), Dr. N. Rao Bonda (Motorola SPS), Dr. Rajen Chanchani (Sandia National Laboratories), Ms. Corey Koehler (Amkor Technology), Ms. Connie Swager (Consultant) and Dr. Naoaki Yamanaka (NTT Network Innovation Labs). The Board of Governors serve as the policy-making arm of the Society, and works with the officers and membership to define its mission and implement the Societys strategic initiatives. They also manage the various marketing, membership and budgetary needs of the organization. The CPMT Society Board of Governors are elected for three-year terms by the voting membership.
The CPMT Society recently reported 7.8 percent growth in membership from 2000 to 2001, making it the fourth fastest growing Society within the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc.s (IEEE), 35+ Societies.
