CPMT Student Chapters and Activities

Welcome to the web pages that support the Student Activities with a focus on the technical disciplines of the IEEE's Components, Packaging, and Manufacturing Technology (CPMT) Society. Our primary interests are the packaging and production of electronics/photonics devices and subsystems. This has either primary or secondary effects on students in the following university curricula: mechanical engineering; electrical engineering; materials science; industrial engineering; physics; and sometimes mathematics and business. We are very interdisciplinary -- and we welcome all participants (not just electrical engineers!)

Your primary contact, beyond your campus professors and your Student Chapter advisor, is Prof. Bill Brown, at the University or Arkansas, who represents the CPMT Society to your local campus. As you see opportunities for creative action on your own campus, or you would like information on starting or strengthening either a student CPMT Chapter or some student activities, please contact him for advice and assistance. How to contact him:

Forming a Student Chapter

If you (as either a student or a professor) would like to form one of our Chapters on your campus, please review these printable files:

You may also contact Professor Bill Brown, above, for details and assistance.

CPMT Chapter Activities

We are pleased to list here some recent Chapter activities, both as recognition of the breadth of such activities around the world, and as ideas for you to adopt and modify for your own programs.
