Who is CPMT at the University of Arkansas?
The CPMT chapter at the University of Arkansas consists of:
- Members (open to all engineering specialties)
- CPMT Student Chapters and Activities Chair, Dr. Bill Brown
- Co-Advisors, Dr. Fred Barlow (EE dept.) and Dr. Steve Tung (ME dept.)

What is the purpose of CPMT?
The CPMT Society's objectives are to provide a forum for the dissemination
of technical information within its assigned areas.
CPMT's fields of interest encompass the materials science, chemical processes,
reliability technology, mathematical modeling, education and training utilized
in the design and production of discretes, hybrids, and electronic packaging.
Also included are fiber optics, connector technology, and semiconductor processing.
Manufacturing technology includes systems, concepts, management, and quality
as they relate to electronic component manufacturing.
What is the CPMT student chapter objectives?
- Participate in 2003 ECTC conference May 27-30th in New Orleans.
- Fund-raising based on corporate donations
- Strengthen academic and industrial relationships
- Promote member participation
- Coordinate efforts with other groups such as IEEE, IMAPS, and Tech Summit
organizers
- Setup tours with technology companies such as Ayrshire Electronics, Molex,
BEI, etc.
- Future meetings with possible guest speakers
- Foster member development

- Undergraduate and graduate students from any major or discipline at the
University of Arkansas
