The Steering Committee of the IEEE Holm Conference is happy to announce the
establishment of the Morton Antler Lecture, an annual lecture to be given
at the IEEE Holm Conference by an invited speaker on topics that are of
special interest to the conference. The Lecture is named in honor of Dr.
Morton Antler a long time contributor to the Holm Conference and a memorial
fund has been established at the IEEE Foundation to support this lecture
series through the geneorsity of a grant made by
Mrs. Esther Antler, his widow. Morton Antler was a well known lecturer and
had many accomplishments including, Ragnar Holm
Scientific Achievement Awardee, Ralph Armington
Service Awardee, four time Conference Prize Paper
Awardee, lecturer for Intensive Course on
Electrical Contacts, and IEEE Fellow.
A subcommittee composed of three or more people and chaired by the IEEE
Holm Techincal Chair will select the lecture for
approval by the Conference's Operation Committee. The objective of this
lecture series is to promote new research activities in the elctrical contact area. An honorarium of up to $1500
will be available for the lecturer and in addition the speaker will receive
a plaque in recognition of giving the Morton Antler Lecture.

The technical committee of the IEEE Holm Conference will appreciate your
input for suggestions of topics and speakers that would be of interest to
you for the invited Morton Antler Lectures. Please fill out this form and
send it into IEEE Office as listed blow. This
lecture series is open to any subject that is of special interest to the
electrical engineering contact community that will help promote new
research in this area. The main emphasis of these lectures will be on new
emerging technology but can also include reviews of older work that may
have become of interest in new applications.
