Semantic Portals are characterized for storing and structuring information resources according to specific domain ontologies. This paper presents the development of POSEDU, an educational semantic portal generated by the SiGePoS system. This system is based on a generic architecture designed for semantic portals generation. POSEDU content organization is explained through the description of two SiGePoS modules functionality: i) dynamic semantic content publication; and ii) dynamic content publication based on KDD (Knowledge Discovery in Database). The first module organizes and supplies the portal with content retrieved from the Semantic Web based on an educational ontology, and the second uses the same ontology to classify and group documents retrieved from the traditional Web for their exhibition in the portal. POSEDU is based on a light-weight ontology named BOEDU, which focus on undergraduate and gradutate courses and their main activities, such as research groups, projects and funding.
