IVEC 2002 News 

Introduction
The Third IEEE International Vacuum Electronics Conference (IVEC 2002) was April 23 - 25, 2002, and was held in Monterey, California at the DoubleTree Hotel. The conference was a great success.

IVEC 2002 Microwave Journal Summary Delayed
August 15, 2002. The 3-page IVEC 2002 conference summary submitted for publication in The Microwave Journal was originally expected to be published in September, but it is now delayed until at least October due to space constraints in the September issue. This information came directly from the Technical Editor, Frank Bashore.

IVEC 2002 Overviews Available
July 16, 2002. A 3-page and a 350-word overview of the IVEC 2002 conference are now available on the IVEC 2002 summary page.

IVEC 2002 Summaries Available
June 5, 2002. Most IVEC 2002 session summaries are now available.

IVEC 2002 Summary Coming

IVEC 2002 Advance Registration Closed
Apr 18, 2002. Advance registration is now closed. On-site registration will be held in the DeAnza Foyer of the DoubleTree Hotel beginning Monday, April 22 from 4:00pm to 9:00pm.

IVEC 2002 Complete Advance Program Available
Feb 28, 2002. The IVEC 2002 Advance Program is now available on-line.

Student Tutorial Software Project
Feb 8, 2002. At the IVEC 2002 job center, an exhibit of computer-based tutorials on microwave vacuum electron devices is planned. This new educational software is being developed by creative students from the MURI consortium (six U.S. universities in the Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative in Innovative Microwave Vacuum Electronics). Describing the principles and applications of TWTs, klystrons, gyrotrons, gyroklystrons, and crossed-field devices, the tutorials will be incorporated into future educational initiatives and promotional materials. Author kits available
As of Feb 4, 2002, the IVEC committee has now examined all submitted abstracts and has set the conference schedule. Authors should have received an e-mail notice of their acceptance indicating their session number, name, time, and chair. Author kits are now available.

Hotel Reservations
There is a special reservation form (Word doc) for the DoubleTree Hotel for IVEC 2002 participants. You can fill it out and send it to the DoubleTree Hotel, but be sure to read the note on the DoubleTree Hotel information page before reserving your rooms.

Abstract Submittal
Abstracts were due December 21, 2001. Details about abstract submittal are here.

Employment Assistance
An employment assistance service will be offered at the conference. Individuals interested in employment opportunities in the vaccuum electronics area and employers seeking applicants should contact IVEC 2002 publications chair, Monica Blank. Interviews will be arranged at the conference.
