MANAGER, CONFORMITY ASSESSMENT PROGRAM

 

The National Electrical Manufacturers Association located in Rosslyn, VA is seeking an experienced project manager to lead the Association’s conformity assessment (CA) program.  The successful candidate will coordinate national and international CA standards activities and will represent U.S.electroindustry interests regionally and internationally to government and private sector conformity assessment initiatives, conferences, workshops etc.  

 

Position requires a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (preferably engineering) and a minimum of 7 years of related experience. Proven understanding of relevant national standards and ISO/IEC Guides required. Excellent oral and written communications skills, related software competencies a must.   Some travel.

POSITION:                Compliance Engineer - Safety

JOB SUMMARY


Manages projects required to obtain and maintain selected outside agency approvals for Bunn products.  Primary responsibility will be safety and coordination for small team.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



1.        Coordinates with outside agencies (UL, NSF, ETL, CSA, etc…) to gain and maintain appropriate approvals for BUNN equipment.
2.        Performs all work and conducts testing in a manner consistent with maintenance of BUNN’s continuing participation in the Client Data Test Program. 3.        Conducts investigations and prepares required documentation to submit to agencies in support of approvals process.
4.        Performs tests on products to assure compliance with safety standards, determine performance specifications, provide competitive analysis, and evaluate product/component design life.  These test data will also generally be part of submittals.
5.        Works with project managers to help evaluate design for ease of agency approval.
6.        Works with production facilities and component suppliers to assure compliance with agency procedures and investigating any variations.  Takes appropriate actions to resolve any variations in required time frame.
7.        Maintains complete and accurate records of required standards and procedures.
8.        Maintains complete and accurate database of equipment listings, and provides information to management and sales team of agency status on all products.
9.        Assists with product design, prototyping, and testing as required.
10.        Helps maintain a neat and orderly office and lab facilities.
11.        Assists in maintaining calibration on all test equipment used in compliance testing.
12.        Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS



Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related discipline.  Mechanical, and electronic aptitude necessary.  Ability to analyze components, ability to communicate proficiently, both verbal and written, to all levels of the organization.  Ability to manage multiple projects a must.  Familiarity with BUNN beverage equipment a significant plus.  Familiarity with UL safety standards 197 and 1082 a plus.  Must be able to read/understand engineering drawings, and system diagrams.
