 ABOUT LINDA KOSMIN LANGFORD

Linda is a technical writer and information analyst in Berwyn, PA. She offers a series of business briefings and tutorials to industry. Topics focus on knowledge management architecture, deep Web access, and Internet routes to R & D funding sources. Also, she provides open-access to her Knowledge Portal Hyperlinks resource, a pathfinder to full-text literature in engineering and the physical sciences. 

She has published widely in periodicals and conference proceedings. Currently, she serves as Contributing Editor and reviews Web sites in her "Surfs Up" column in IEEE Engineering Management Review quarterly journal. She is serving a second elected term on the Board of Governors of the IEEE Engineering Management Society. Her biography appears in Who's Who of American Women. Linda holds degrees in Chemistry, Library Science, and Environmental Science (Air/Water Pollution Control). 

She served as Process Owner for Develop Knowledge and was the Manager of the Library, Archives, and Records Section at the California Institute of Technology NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). She also served as the NASA Scientific and Technical Information (STI) Manager for JPL, and in that role helped foster collaboration among all the NASA Center libraries. She was awarded the NASA Exceptional Achievement Medal for advancing technical library services at JPL in 1998. 

Before relocating to California, she was the Library Reference Section Supervisor at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, where she was noted for informative briefings about Internet resources. She also served as Editor of Information Interface, a newsletter sponsored by the R. E. Gibson Library and Technical Information Center. Earlier, she served as Deputy Director of the University of Pennsylvania Biomedical Library and Engineering Librarian at Drexel University. She taught Science Reference Sources in the Graduate School of Library Science at Drexel, as well as Chemistry classes at Drexel and the University of Maryland.
