Telecommunications Laboratory Manual

This multimedia manual is designed for the Collins DLT-2300 and DST-2300 equipment manufactured by Rockwell and was donated to the University of Missouri-Rolla by Wiltel. The equipment is a telecommunications station which takes 2016 standard phone signals onto a fiber optics line for transmission and reception. The equipment is currently located in Room 212 of the Engineering Research Laboratory at the University of Missouri-Rolla. The manual was started as an Undergraduate Research Project by Andrew Sears in the Department of Electrical Engineering.

Organization of the Manual

• Component Operation: This section has pictures of the equipment and a signal flow diagram explaining how the equipment works. Users can point to any component or point on the flow diagram to see information about that part of the equipment.
• Multimedia Experiments: This section allows users to conduct multimedia experiments and see the output of the oscilloscope. Students conducting the experiments can also turn in their lab reports via E-mail.
• Operating Instructions: This section allows users to find out information needed to operate the equipment. In addition, users may E-mail to the instructor or manufacturer for help.
• Index: Complete index of all components of manual with clickable map.
