Demo Version -- VHDL Interactive Tutorial README File Spyglass Mosaic browsers are included only on the complete version of the VHDL Interactive Tutorial. README File: This file is an ASCII file that provides information on accessing the information on the CD-ROM. Note that all file and directory names on this CD-ROM are in UPPER CASE. Browser for the CD-ROM: This CD-ROM uses HTML 2.0 and was tested using several browsers. However, some older versions of browsers may experience some problems, especially with the frames used in the toolbar. By using the browser's "BACK" and "FORWARD" commands along with the module index pages, you should be able to navigate through the tutorial using any HTML browser. If you start some browsers on a stand alone system (i.e. not connected to the Internet), you may get an error message telling you that the browser could not find a network connection driver. Most browsers will allow you to continue by selecting the continue button. Mosaic O'Reilly* Browser: This CD-ROM contains the SUN O/S, Solarias, MacIntosh and Windows commercial versions of Mosaic. The following are directions for setting up the browsers: 1. The SUN O/S version is in the /MOSAIC/SUNOS directory and is a compressed tar file. The file should be copied over to your system and renamed mosora211.tar.Z. Uncompress and untar the file as required. 2. The SOLARIS version is in the /MOSAIC/SOLARIS directory and is a compressed tar file. The file should be copied over to your system and renamed mosora211.tar.Z. Uncompress and untar the file as required. 3. The MACINTOSH(R) version is in the /MOSAIC/MAC directory and is a compressed binhex file. The file should be copied over to your system and uncompressed as required. 4. The WINDOWS version is in the \MOSAIC\WINDOWS directory and is a compressed zip file. The file should be copied over to your system and uncompressed as required. In order to access the Interactive VHDL Tutorial, once your browser is running, you will need to perform the following steps: PC Systems: 1. Start your web browser. 2. Put the CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive. 3. From your browser select the "file" option. 4. Select the proper option to open a file from your browser. 5. Type the following URL into the Location Window in your browser as described below: On a PC system, the logical device name for a CD-ROM drive is typically set to "E:". Therefore the URL you would type in would be "file:///E:/HTML/HOMEPG.HTM". You should use the logical device name for your CD-ROM drive on your system. 6. If this displays the tutorial home page, save it as a bookmark and use the bookmark to return to the home page. You are now ready to proceed with the tutorial. 7. If an error occurs, you may need to access the home page via directory listings. Select the CD-ROM drive to get a directory listing of the CD-ROM. From here follow the directories to the home page. Save the home page as a bookmark. You are now ready to proceed with the tutorial. MACINTOSH(R) * Systems: 1. Start your web browser. 2. Put the CD-ROM in your CD-ROM drive. 3.
