Including Graphics Files in an HTML Document

WWW browsers on Windows, Macintosh and UNIX machines are frequently configured to display graphics files with suffixes GIF and JPG. It is easy to find graphics programs for Windows, Macintosh and UNIX platforms that will convert an existing graphics file into one of these file formats. Displaying the graphics files requires a machine with an appropriately configured WWW browser. Here is an example display of a GIF graphics file.

To see the HTML statements that display the GIF file, go to the View menu item of your browser and choose the Source item. When you have finished viewing the document source, return to this view.
