FRONTIERS IN EDUCATION CONFERENCE - REVIEWERS NEEDED
& SUBMISSION DEADLINE FOR ACCEPTED PAPERS APPROACHES

Tim Skvarenina is the Education Society Program Co-chair for the 2004 Frontiers in Education (FIE) conference. He advises us that papers, which have already been accepted for the FIE 2004 conference, are due back to the FIE Web site by March 8, 2004:

Tim is also in-need of reviewers who can review three or more papers within 4 weeks of their assignment. Reviewers are needed for the following areas:

• Capstone and creative design experiences
• Diversity: achieving it and teaching it
• EE papers (assorted papers)
• Faculty development and retention
• Globalization initiatives and programs
• K-12 (pre-college) initiatives: increasing the pool
• Life-long learning
• Multidisciplinary teaming
• Engineering Technology Papers

Living in an information society, globalization brings new challenges for cooperation, collaboration and exchange while we stress the importance of local tradition and identity in engineering education, as well as challenges in pedagogy and practical experience. This international forum brings together academia, industry and government from the corners of the world to Switzerland. The theme of this international Symposium is: Local Identity -- Global Awareness.

The topics include: people and technology, international aspects in engineering education, curriculum development, working with projects, women in technical education, knowledge management, mathematics and natural sciences in engineering education, postgraduate training, humanities and social science in engineering education, teacher training, and many more.
