Distinguished Chapter Leadership Award

Description: To recognize an IEEE Education Society member who has, over a sustained period of time, made an exceptional contribution to the Society, which has manifested itself at the Chapter level. Selection is based on leadership roles and leadership quality, which have provided an innovative, inventive, and/or important service/contribution to the EdSoc's Chapter function.

Prize: Commemorative Plaque, a Certificate, and paid registration to the next fall’s Frontiers in Education (FIE) Conference if the award is to be presented there.

Funding: Funded by the IEEE Education Society.

Eligibility: Individuals nominated for this award must be a member of the Society and the IEEE.

Basis for Judging: Based upon the following factors: leadership roles and leadership quality, which have provided an innovative, inventive, and/or important service/contribution to the Society's Chapter function over a sustained period of time.

Presentation: Typically presented at the annual FIE conference's awards banquet, but can be presented at another venue that would be agreeable to the awardee and the Chair of the Society’s Awards Committee.

Nomination Instructions: Self-nominations are not allowed. A letter (email) of nomination including a proposed award citation of no more than 30 words, the nominee's IEEE membership number, and one letter of endorsement, each no longer than 3 pages, is required in support of a nomination. Letters may be in digital form or may be paper-based. Only one letter of nomination and one letter of endorsement should be submitted. Both letters must be written by persons who are familiar with the nominee's qualifications for this award and should address the judging criteria listed above.
