The 36th Annual Meeting of the IEEE Industry Applications Society will be held September 30 - October 4, 2001 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Chicago. The conference schedule has not been changed by recent events. The IAS looks forward to meeting conference attendees in Chicago. The IAS Annual Meeting returns to the North American continent after its first ever visit to Region 8 and Rome, Italy in 2000. The 36th Annual Meeting of the IEEE Industry Applications Society will be held September 30 October 4, 2001 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. The technical program contains over 370 papers from 45 different countries. Five tutorials are planned for Sunday, September 30; attendees can obtain continuing education units (CEUs) by attending one of the tutorials. In addition, there are four technical tours and three guest tours scheduled throughout the week of the conference. The Sunday evening Welcome Reception and the Monday evening Exhibitors Reception will be held in the exhibit hall. Awards for the 2001 Future Energy Challenge sponsored by the Department of Energy will be presented at the Myron Zucker Student Luncheon on Monday, October 1. Outstanding chapter awards and prize paper awards will be presented at the Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, October 2. Recipients of the Societys most prestigious awards and newly-elected IEEE Fellows will be honored at the Presidents Banquet on Wednesday, October 3.
