B) Student Membership Promotional Program.
A program was organized jointly by IEEE Calcutta Section and its Power Engineering Chapter for the promotion of student membership at the Heritage Institute of Technology, Kolkata on 13th April 2004. Prof. S.Chakravorti, Chair, Power Engineering Chapter, Dr. S.K.Sanyal, Vice-Chair, IEEE Calcutta Section and Prof. K.K.Mallik, EAC Chair, IEEE Calcutta Section took part in this program. At the outset Prof. Chakravorti made a presentation on the IEEE activities in general, which was followed by a technical lecture on "Features of TTL Logic Gates" by Dr. Sanyal. An interactive session on "Why a students should become an IEEE Member?" was held thereafter in which Prof. Mallik made a presentation on the student activities of IEEE and the benefits of IEEE membership to the students in particular. More than 45 students and several faculty members of HIT participated in this program.
A) Web-content development contest for IEEE student members attached to IEEE Calcutta Section was held in the year 2003 (for details click here).
Out of the several entries, which were judged by a panel of experts, the content developed by Mr. Sujoy Mukherjee (S 41553452) has been awarded the certificate of merit for the best entry.
