interest. Check the listing periodically, as we'll be adding many topics as the meeting
approaches. If you plan to make presentation (especially
if its a computer based presentation), be sure and check

| Mini-Expo |
This meeting will feature a mini-expo for vendors to
display their products or describe their services. Check the list of participants periodically. If
your company would like to participate, complete the application
soon. Space is limited. |
| Didactic |
Cable Accessories
Applicable IEEE Standards and Failure Analysis Techniques. The program will cover
the basic requirements of IEEE 404 on cable joints, IEEE 48 on cable terminations and IEEE
386 on separable connectors. It will also include a primer on how to analyze accessory
failures. |
| New Member Orientation |
Past Chairman, Matt Mashikian, will conduct an Orientation Session for New
Members and Guests. Plan to attend. You'll learn about the organization, meet people and
come up to speed faster. |
| Spouse Activities |
Marjorie Hartlein has arranged for special shopping excursions, some interesting sightseeing and
visits to great restaurants while we contemplate the finer points of the definition of
TR-XLPE. |

| Hotel Information |
The Spring 1999 meeting will be held at the Hilton Hotel and
Towers.They will hold rooms for the ICC and guarantee this rate up till April 23rd.
But don't wait that long to make your reservation (see the next paragraph). Their website
includes a map as well as detailed info on their facilities. The
hotel is at 222 East Third St. Charlotte, North Carolina 28202. They can be reached by
phone at (704) 377-1500 or via fax at (704) 377-4143. Early
hotel reservations are critical this at this meeting. "The
Winston" (NASCAR's equivalent of an All-Star Race) will be held at the Charlotte
Motor Speedway on May 22nd. The Speedway seats 112,000 and will be packed, so call the
Hilton early.
Hotel Parking: If you are staying at the Hilton, parking is $14/day. If
not, it is $18/day. (This is expensive, but the Hotel does not own the parking lot.) |
