John
Procario
of Cinergy will be our speaker for the Spring 03 meeting. He is
presently Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Regulated
Businesses Business Unit and is responsible for the operations and customer
service activities related to the Cinergy gas and electric transmission and
distribution systems.
John received his BS
degree in electrical engineering and an MS degree in electric power
engineering from The Ohio State University in 1973 and 1974.
He has held various engineering, management, and
executive positions with the Cincinnati Gas & Electric Company from 1974 to
1994 and Cinergy Corp. from 1994 to the present. John
also has taught in the College of Engineering at the University of
Cincinnati since 1975 starting as a Lecturer and promoting to Adjunct
Professor. Mr. Procario has served in various industry organizations
including the North American Electric Reliability Council (NERC), the
Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), the Edison Electric Institute (EEI)
and the North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB). |
| Presentations |
The Subcommittees will sponsor many Technical Presentations
(updated 4/25/2003) on key topics in their fields of
interest. If you plan to make presentation (especially
if its a computer based presentation), be sure and check the
Presentation Guidelines page. Remember, a computer projector will be provided by the ICC only
for Orientation, the Opening Session, the Subcommittee sessions
and the Educational Program. Transparencies
must be used in the Transnational Luncheon |

Educational Program Committee Chairman Steve Szaniszlo has announced that the
Spring 2003 program will be "An Overview of PILC Cables".

| Mini-Expo |
The
Spring 2003 meeting will again feature a TableTop exhibition. The tabletops
can be on any product on or topic current or new that is related to the
Insulated Conductors Committee. The cost of a TableTop is $350.00. Mark the Registration form
(PDF
or MS-Word)
under 'TT' to pay for your table top. Cost is $350.00.
Please send an email to Kent Brown at
k.w.brown@ieee.org with the
title of your Table Top Presentation and a brief description for the
website.

| Registration |
Special Notice
- As in past years, the registration fee is higher for non-IEEE members than for IEEE
members. In order to register as an IEEE member, you will
have to know your IEEE number (its on your membership card and on the
mailing label of IEEE publications). The
Spring 2003 Registration form is available as both a
PDF version and a MS-Word version
(updated 4/11/2003). Please pre-register as it helps us with
the planning and it makes it easier for you. When you arrive at the hotel, all your
registration materials will be ready for pick-up. If you are pre-registering, please send
the form and a check made payable to the ICC to Bill Taylor, our Vice Chair and Treasurer.
If you want to pre-register and pay when you arrive at the meeting, please e-mail, fax or
mail the registration form to Bill. You will then be able to register at the
pre-registration fee schedule.
Remember, the registration fee now includes the minutes on CD. If you
want an extra copy of the minutes, or you are a corresponding member, you can
purchase a CD copy of the minutes by checking the "Spring
03 Minutes" on the
registration form (PDF or
MS-Word) and paying an additional $50.00. |
| Hotel Information |
To direct register with the Hilton, phone + 513-421-9100 or
fax + 513-621-4560 or you can use the preaddressed, postage free, business
envelope in your mailing. Tell the hotel you are ICC. The cut-off date for
the ICC rate is March 28, 2003. If you register after this date you may not
get the agreed upon rate but you will be able to register as ICC. You can

| New Member Orientation |
Past ICC Chairman, Mike Walker, will conduct an Orientation Session for New
Members and Guests. Plan to attend. You'll learn about the organization, meet people and
come up to speed faster. |
| Spouse Activities |
The
ladies program will be a luncheon on Monday, and a tour to Lebanon,
OH on Tuesday. The luncheon cost is $25.00. There will be a talk on the
history of the hotel and a short walking tour. The Hilton is registered with
the National Trust for Historic Preservation as one of the Historic Hotels
of America. On Tuesday a tour of historic Lebanon, Ohio is being planned. The
transportation cost is $20.00. Lunch will be extra and is planned at the
historic Golden Lamb Hotel. Eight US presidents have stayed here. Or you can
have lunch on your own and enjoy the many antique shops and boutiques in
this pretty little town. Of course there will be the usual ladies breakfast
each morning. The hotel is connected by a walkway to a downtown mall with
over 75 shops including Saks 5th Ave. |
