PES Outstanding Chapter Award
The PES Outstanding Chapter Award grants every year to recognize the chapter that has reached the excellence in its operations, membership, programs and activities.
The winning chapters receive the prize during the Awards Lunch of the PES General Meeting. PES Panama Chapter received this recognition in the 2004.
PES Outstanding Engineer Award
The Outstanding Engineer Award was established in 1994 by the Executive Committee of the Society of Power & Energy of the IEEE, to recognize the contributions in the technical area, professional area and to the society in the name of the profession of engineering of power.
The winners receive a plaque of the Society of Power & Energy of the IEEE and it is delivered every year. The winners in the previous years have been:

PES Chapters Membership Grow Contest
The Power & Energy Society organizes every year the PES Chapters Membership Growth Contest and all the chapters are eligible to participate. The number of members is measured according to the statistics at December 31 st and is compared with the previous year. This way determines which chapters is the winner of the contest. The Panama chapter participated in the year 2007 and obtained the second place with a growth of 43% of professional membership. The first place was occupied by Venezuela.
PES Chapters Web Site Contest
The Power & Energy Society carries out every year the PES Chapters Web Sites Contest in where all the chapters of the society can participate. The Panama Chapter obtained the second place of this contest in the years 2007 and 2008.
