This role is responsible for applying basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices in regulatory engineering to support NPD, sustaining, and productivity designs that have intermediate to medium complexity. This role will be heavily involved in testing, troubleshooting, and agency submittals in support of new and sustaining product development projects.

Engineer II, Regulatory Experience:   

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering and minimum of one (1) year of job-related experience strongly preferred; or minimum of five (5) years of job-related experience as defined in the Essential Duties & Responsibilities; an advanced degree in directly applicable area of study may substitute for up to two (2) years of experience • 1+ years of job-related experience with Bachelor’s degree in engineering • Able to travel up to 10% - domestically and internationally • Familiarity with agile tools such as Jira, or equivalent preferred • Effective communication skills; ability to work within a cross functional teams; strong analytical skills; ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Engineer II, Regulatory Responsibilities:

• Maintain current product regulatory files • Review/submit new product compliance • Understand domestic and international regulations for product safety, radio, EMC, and EMI • Monitor project milestones - communicating any blockers or delays. Ensure regular communications to Core Team Leader, Functional Manager, and Stakeholders. • Understand lab equipment. • Conduct on-site testing. • Be certified in the CGI/UL Client Test Data Program (CTDP) • Be a signatory for the CGI/UL Client Test Data Program (CTDP) • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams • Protect CGI’s reputation by keeping information confidential • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed

The Senior Consultant is responsible for:

• Managing the execution of complex Product Safety & Certifications projects in multiple product categories.
• Interaction with customers and Certification Bodies to discuss project scope and management, technical issues, explain procedures and requirements, resolve technical issues.
• Determining project scope, test plans and programs for product compliance investigations.
• Independently performing electrical/electronic/electromechanical equipment design and construction evaluations to various North American (UL, CSA) and global (IEC and national) product compliance standards.
• Writing construction and test reports, confirming non-compliances, providing engineering recommendations for non-compliance resolutions, and communicating results to customers.
• Some travel may be required.
• Some on-site testing at client facilities may be required.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

• Experience in managing global Product Safety and Certifications with all Certification Bodies (UL, Intertek, CSA, CE, CB, CCC, etc.)
• Strong background in multiple product categories and have practical application and interpretation of conformity assessment standards to bring products into compliance.
• Demonstrated Project Management skills.
• University Degree ( Bachelor's degree) in Electrical Engineering or related degree, such as Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or Physics from an ABET accredited program or equivalent experience.
• 10-15 years minimum relevant work experience.
