Two proposals for the
2007 IEEE Workshop on Automatic Speech Recognition
and Understanding (ASRU) were submitted to the SLTC
in May. In July, a decision was made by a majority
vote by the SLTC to hold the ASRU Workshop in
Kyoto, Japan in
2007. The ASRU-2007 Workshop will be organized by
Sadaoki Furui of Tokyo Institute of Techology,
Satoshi Nakamura of ATR, and Tatsuya Kawahara of
Kyoto University. The complete organizing committee

It is the first time
that the Workshop will be held in Asia. The
tentative schedule is from December 9th to 13th,
2007.
Kyoto was the capital of Japan during the 8th to 9th
centuries, and many ancient temples and shrines are
well preserved, and is now a
UNESCO world heritage site.
