IRAM
(Institut de Radioastronomie Millimétrique)

  • Main Activity: study of cold matter in the solar system, in our Galaxy, and out to cosmological distances in order to determine its composition, density, mass, temperature, and kinematics. IRAM develops technologies and instrumentation. This involves low-noise detectors using superconductor-isolator-superconductor (SIS) junctions.
