Prague Institute of Chemical Technology
Department of Inorganic Chemistry

  • Main Activity: Preparation and study of high-Tc superconductors
  • Description: At this time there is no website describing activities of our group.  Scientific activities of our department are focused on preparation, characterization, structure and properties of special inorganic materials.  The webpage of the department is:
    http://www.vscht.cz/ach/ach-eng/index-e.htm
We are studying preparation of Bi-based superconductors using solid state reaction alternatively enriched by sol-gel preparation of precursors. Our research is focused on effect of composition on superconducting properties. Chemical composition and structure of prepared superconductors are determined by XRD diffraction analysis, SEM with XRD spectroscopy, IR/Raman and AA spectroscopy. All these techniques are available at our institute.  Electrical and magnetic properties are measured in collaboration with the Institute of Physics ASCR.
Permanent research staff consists at the moment of 4 scientists (D. Sykorova, O. Smrckova, V. Jakes, K. Rubesova), who also participate in educational activities at the Institute of Chemical Technology.  Our group includes also undergraduate and postgraduate students.
