Background: The IEEE
Nanotechnology Council (NTC) was formed in February 2002. Every IEEE Society/Council has a logo to be
identified with its technical activities.
Shown in the center above is the IEEE logo. Shown on the left is the temporary logo associated with the
Nanotechnology Council, and on the right are the logos for the NTC founding
societies: Robotics and Automation
Society, Electron Devices Society, Industrial Electronics Society, and Circuits
and Systems Society. Logos for other
Societies/Councils can be found in the IEEE website, http://www.ieee.org/.
Logo
Contest: Purpose
of this contest is to create a permanent logo for the NTC. The logo should be representative of the
kind of technical activities the NTC would be involved in, and should not
already be copyrighted. For information
on the NTC fields of interest, please log onto the NTC website, http://ewh.ieee.org/tc/nanotech/.
Contest
Rules:
a.
Only students are eligible to submit a candidate logo.
b.
Logo submissions should be a line drawing with or
without text for ease of printing.
Logos that include photographs will not be considered.
c.
Submit logo in PowerPoint or gif format.
d.
Size of logo should be scalable so that different sizes
can be printed.
e.
The members of the NTC Executive Committee will serve as
judges and the judges' decision is final.
f.
One logo, or no logo, from the submissions may be
selected as the winner.
g.
The winning logo, if there is one, will be recognized at
the IEEE-NANO-2002 conference banquet in Arlington, VA.
h.
All entries will become the property of the IEEE.
Prize: The
prize for the student with the winning logo is $100 and their IEEE-NANO’2002
conference registration fee will be waived.
The winning logo will become the official NTC logo. All submitted logos will be displayed at the
conference bulletin board.
Deadline: Logos must be submitted electronically by August 15, 2002. Submission
after this deadline will not be considered.
