There are four different
awards:
President’s Student Research Award, Technical Achievement Award, Meritorious Service Award,
and IEEE Sensors Council Journal Best Paper Award.
The purpose of the
Technical Achievement Award is to honor a person with
outstanding technical contributions within the scope of the IEEE
Sensors Council as documented by publications, which includes
patents. It is based on the general quality and originally of
contributions. The person who wins this is awarded s plaque and
$2,000 check.
The Meritorious Service Award honors a
person with outstanding long-term service to the welfare of the
IEEE Sensors Council. It is based on dedication, effort and
contributions. The award is a plaque and $2,000 check.
The IEEE Sensors Journal Best Paper Award
recognizes the best paper published in the IEEE Sensors
Journal. It is based on general quality, originality,
contributions, subject matter and timeliness. The award is a
certificate and $2,000 split equally among authors.
The IEEE Sensors
Council President’s Award is for outstanding undergraduate or
graduate research in the engineering, development and/or
implementation of a specific sensor and/or sensors suites during
the past calendar year. The
award is a plaque and $2,000 check.

The 2007 awards were presented at the Banquet of
the 2007 IEEE SENSORS
Conference.
Nominations for the
2008 awards are due August 15th, 2008. Please send your
