Valencia College IEEE Student Chapter Chair Invited to a NASA Social Event

Thomas Dillen, Valencia College IEEE Student Chapter Chair, was selected to attend the NASA Social Event and he is planning on broadcasting live from the event to The Valencia College IEEE Facebook page and other social media pages that he manages.

Details that he received so far are as follows: “Congratulations! Recently you applied for social media credentials to attend the SpaceX Commercial Crew uncrewed flight test, known as Demo-1. We are pleased to let you know that your application has been approved to attend the event. The two-day event is targeted for Sunday, January 16 – 17, 2019.
During the event, you will be provided with the opportunity to:

  • Tour NASA and SpaceX facilities
  • Meet and interact with subject matter experts
  • View and take photographs of Launch Complex 39A
  • Meet fellow space enthusiasts who are active on social media
  • Meet members of NASA's social media team
  • View the SpaceX’s uncrewed flight test of the Crew Dragon atop a Falcon 9 rocket for NASA’s Commercial Crew Program."

Call for Orlando Section Volunteers for SoutheastCon 2022

The Orlando Section is looking to host the SoutheastCon 2022 in Orlando, FL in early 2022. Four years away but the planning needs to start now. Up first is the application to Region 3 where we need to identify Orlando section members to fulfill key roles in the event. Roles include Conference Treasurer and Publication Chair along with vice chairs for Conference Treasurer, Conference Information, Conference Publications, and Conference Technical Program. The planning committee is also being established. Please contact Varadraj Prabhu by May 10th if you are interested in supporting the SoutheastCon 2022 in Orlando, FL.
