The annual IEEE Orlando Section Awards Banquet will be held on Saturday, March 25 at the 4Th Fighter Group WW II Theme Restaurant and Lounge. The evening’s events will feature a talk by Astronaut and UCF professor Dr. Samuel Durance entitled “Planet Earth: an Astronauts View“, and the presentation of Florida Council, Section, Chapter and Student awards. In addition, 11 distinguished Orlando Section members will be presented with the special IEEE Millennium Medals in recognition of their many years of service to the IEEE and the profession.
 
Dinner selections include Farmhouse Chicken (marinated boneless breast of chicken topped with smoked ham and jack cheese crowned with demi glace and served with garlic mashed potatoes); Sergeant’s Prime Rib (slow roasted with cracked peppercorns and kosher salt served Au Jus with garlic mashed potatoes); and Vegetable Stir Fry (oriental cut vegetables stir-fried with teriyaki sauce and served over rice). All entrees include house salad vegetable du jour and warm rolls. Desert selections include Key Lime Pie, Cheesecake and Carrot cake.
 
The cost is $25 per person. Please RSVP with your dinner selection to Dr. Al Berg via Email at aberg@gdi.net or via regular mail at 1054 Beckstrom Dr., Oviedo, FL 32765 by Friday, March 10. Payment can be made by check in advance or at the door. Please make checks payable to the IEEE Orlando Section. The 4th Fighter Group is located at 494 Rickenbacker Dr., Orlando, FL on the north side of the Orlando Executive Airport. Doors will open at 6:30 PM.
