Welcome!

On behalf of the organizing committee I am most delighted to welcome and invite you to the 21st episode of the IEEE Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (CCECE) held in the Sheraton Fallsview Hotel in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. The venue, the city of Niagara Falls with more than 15 million visitors annually is abundant of activities that is bound to entertain people of all ages and walks of life.

Niagara Falls is located 125 kilometres southeast of Toronto City and 27 kilometres north of Buffalo City, New York. Niagara Falls often said to be the honeymoon capital of the world, features most popular falls that are spectacular wonders of the world and provide breathtaking views.

CCECE is the flagship conference for researchers, students, and practicing engineers in the area of Electrical and Computer Engineering from Canada and around the world to meet annually for 4 days in a Canadian city to present the latest technological advancements and discoveries, to network, and exchange ideas, to strengthen existing partnerships and foster new collaborations.

CCECE 2008 with the theme "Wonders of Technology" will feature seven mini-symposia covering all areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering, eight tutorial sessions in leading topics, six plenary and keynote talks from senior executives and leading researchers/enterperneurs in industry and academia, around 90 technical paper sessions, the IEEE Canada Awards and Banquet night, best paper awards luncheon, and career fair. There are many initiatives in this conference and they include full paper submission and elaborate technical review; technical focus in the form of symposia; and career fair on the students' day of the conference.

The success of CCECE 2008 is solely attributed to wonderful team effort combined by outstanding technical contributions by the attendees. I would like to take this opportunity to extend sincere thank you to every single member of the CCECE 2008 Organizing Committee for their dedication and help. These selfless volunteers have worked hard and diligentlty with one goal in mind: to make CCECE 2008 a very memorable value-added conference.
