SPECIAL SESSION FOR DOCTORAL STUDENTS - "GIORGIO SAVASTANO" AWARD

A Special Session will be organized for doctoral students to present the results of their current research activities in the fields covered by the conference topics.

Papers submitted for this session must be authored only by PhD students. The best paper presented in this session will receive an award.

The Award is dedicated to the memory of Prof. Giorgio Savastano and it is offered by a group of his old students.

Student Paper Contest

Undergraduate and graduate students are invited to submit papers to the IMTC/06 Student Paper Contest sponsored by the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society. Both travel awards and best paper awards will be made.

Travel awards for reimbursable expenses will be competitively awarded for papers selected for presentation. Best paper awards will consist of up to two Undergraduate Student Outstanding Paper awards and up to two Graduate Student Outstanding Paper awards. If sufficient undergraduate student papers are not received, additional awards will be made for graduate student papers.

Contest Rules :

• Eligibility. First author must have been a student when the work was done, and at the time of the conference still be a student or have graduated within the last year.
• Students must present their paper at IMTC/06.
• Paper submission will be in accordance with regular IMTC/06 paper submissions. Student paper entries should specify that the paper is to be considered for the student paper competition.

Best Paper Selection Criteria :

• Evaluation of the technical content and writing quality of the submitted paper.

Awards :

• Recipients of travel awards will be notified in advance of the conference.
• Best paper awards will be presented at the Awards Banquet.
